Great product. It seems like it will keep me warm during the cold months ahead. I love the detachable hood and the fact that my neck and lower face will be shielded from the coming winter cold. The fit is great! I purchased a size L though I usually wear a size M based on another customer's review. I'm glad I took their advice. I'll be able to wear layers easily underneath. The zipper quality is fine. Just be gentle. The multiple and deep pockets are going to be very handy. I wasn't sure about the color combination, but the price overcame my concern. As it turns out the color is just fine. I'm kinda looking forward to wearing it and seeing if it will keep the despicable cold out this winter.

I hardly ever submit reviews here but this jacket is fantastic. easily the best winter coat I've owned EVER. seriously, and I've owned some good ones! what especially pleases me is that it is incredibly warm, even in winter winds (I walk everywhere) YET it doesn't make me look like I am puffed up or 3 times wider than I actually am. It's SLIMMING (and I ordered an XL just to be on the safe side because depending on how things are made L can be just a bit too tight for me. and yet it's comfortable; I can stretch, reach, turn and bend forward without feeling restrictive tightness. The cuffs stay in place and stay snug. There's no elastic at the waist/bottom- which was a selling point for me, but there's a secure pull cord to tighten the fit there when needed. When zipped up to the top it covers my neck right to my chin. The detatchable hood fastens snug closed right under my chin. the pockets are placed in practical places with the lower ones being just right to put my hands in them comfortably and the front pockets snap closed. It truly is water-resitant too. My only criticisms which are very minor for me are (a) the artifical fur on the edges of the hood is... it looks kind of cheap in comparison with every other visual of the coat, and (b) the zipper in front feels like it might not last as long as everything else. The connecting metal on the side where there zipper isn't when it's unzipped feels like it could give before any other part of the coat is anywhere near giving. But, it's not terrible, I appreciate where it ends (at the waistline, not at the bottom hem of the actual coat) because this reduces strain ON the zipper, and the front also snaps closed from top to bottom. all the stitching is thorough and secure. the faux-fleece lining is SO WARM and is removable. NOTE: one suggestion I'd like to add is- if you would ever consider ordering and donating a coat to a needy cause, I truly feel this would be an IDEAL choice. it's quality compared to affordability inspired me to order another to donate.

This jacket is just what I was looking for. It is fairly lightweight, but very insulative against wind, and fairly water-resistant. The zipper is plastic, but it seems to be a fairly tough type that I think will last for a little while. I like that the jacket has a flap that covers the zipper and snaps tight over the top of it. The pockets are well placed and help carry extra gear when needed. I have not really felt the cold while wearing it even in strong gusty winds. My other soft shell jackets felt like the wind went right through them. Temperatures where I live have only gotten down into the 30s F so far this winter though, so not sure how it will fare in much colder weather. The fur in the hood is a little bit much, and when it's pulled up over my head it tends to get in my eyes a little bit. It's not so bad if I wear a baseball cap or something under it. It does help keep wind off my neck and ears though. Rain drops bead up pretty well on the fabric, and on some days I've been able to swipe or shake almost all the water off the jacket before bringing it indoors. About the only other thing I noticed is that the velcro that tightens up the collar across under your chin only has one spot where it attaches and on me it's a little loose. I wish there was a couple more spots for the velcro to attach so you could get that adjusted a little more. I got a Large, and sizing seems just right. All in all I'm very pleased with the jacket. If the zipper holds up well, it would be the best one I've had in a long time.

I live up at around 4700ft elevation in Colorado. It hasn’t been too cold yet so I can’t say how well it does when temps fall to the teens and below. I have had it out in the wind and rain and it did a great job. It’s well made and it looks nice. I’m 150lbs and 5’9”. I ordered the x-large and I’m glad I did. The jacket is cut kinda slim so you should order a size bigger than you usually wear or you won’t have any room for layers underneath. Mine came with the string pulled out of the hood but I didn’t care because I usually pull it out anyway. I like the way the hood is able to latch around your chin and really block out the wind. This will be great on super cold and windy days.

I threw this on the second it arrived and instantly loved it. It is super snuggly, aggressively warm, and feels like it’s actually built to survive the impending doom of a harsh Colorado winter. I bought a size up so I have extra room to layer clothes underneath, which was frankly a tactical genius move on my part. The only reason it is getting four stars instead of five is because of Amazon’s absolutely unhinged price differentials. Green is my favorite color, and I really wanted the version of this coat with the green lining instead of this golden one. But apparently, changing the interior fabric dye to green immediately catapults the price completely out of my budget. Boo to Amazon for gatekeeping the green lining and financially penalizing people for a color preference on the exact same coat. Aside from the algorithmic robbery, the jacket itself is great. The ultimate survival test will come when the snow hits, but for now, I am fully equipped to hunker down.
